Emergency Update

Morning.

I woke up this morning to a strong stench of burning ashes. As I walked to class the sky was dark and a blanket of smoke covered the sky, barely showing the orange sun. Due to the Santa Ana winds, the smoke has been brought to many areas in Southern California.

On LA Daily News it reports...

"The Los Angeles County Health Officer is issuing a health alert due to the smoke and associated air pollution from fires in Malibu Canyon, Canyon Country, and the Santa Clarita area. Smoke from these fires includes small particles and gases that can cause health problems."

LA Daily News also writes...

" Things got worse Monday, when several new fires sprouted, adding to the 40,000 acres - or 62 square miles - that already have burned. The worst damage was in Malibu, where a church, homes and a castle were charred."

Right now San Diego has been affected by the flames as the winds continue to blow in that direction.

David says that 8 cities and all major freeways are closed like the 5 and the 15. The closest one to him is in Mt Carmel, which is only 15 mins from where he lives. The sky is completely brown there. Please pray for him! Also pray for Henry and Carolina who are living in UCSD. Pray for the students and for their safety as they might be evacuated.

We can only continue to pray for safety and heath. The air is starting to get hazardous and in San Diego they are moving the animals to the hospitals for safer breathing.
