Arson Fire In Irvine Burns Nearly 20,000 Acres
" (CBS) IRVINE, Calif. The nearly 20,000-acre arson fire that has destroyed about a dozen homes in Orange County horse country east of Irvine was about 30 percent contained on Wednesday, as the offshore winds that have fanned the flames started to let up.
One of the most active fronts on the so-called Santiago Fire -- Orange County Fire Authority Chief Chip Prather said it was started near Santiago Canyon and Silverado Canyon roads about 5:55 p.m. Sunday, and three points of origin were identified -- was burning in the in the area of Modjeska and Silverado canyons.">>more on the article.
